We have a wide range of beautiful sofas made to last a long time in terms of quality and design.
Whether you are looking for a fabric sofa, a leather sofa, a wooden sofa, a spacious corner sofa or a little sofa for the guest room. Because we only use natural materials for our sofas, they are kind to the environment and contribute to a healthy, clean indoor environment. Pocket sprung sofa cushions with latex and horsehair, top stuffing in ECO-certified natural latex and seabird feathers, while the cover is made in OEKO-TEX-certified cotton. All this makes our sofas comfortable and sustainable for people and the environment.
If you see your sofa purchase as a long-term investment, it makes sense to buy a really high-quality sofa in a timeless design. In the end, it is usually more expensive to buy a sofa with a smaller price tag because it wears out faster and needs to be replaced. If you take care of your sofa in the right way, it will last for generations. Read more about how you take care of your Norrgavel sofa here.

How are your sofas environmentally friendly?
We work almost exclusively with pure natural materials that are part of the natural cycle. By sticking to renewable raw materials, we reduce our carbon footprint. Of course, no endangered plants and animals are used in our production. As upholstery material in our sofas we use everything from horsehair and kroll, to natural rubber and seabird feathers. Most of our sofas have removable upholstery, which allows you to easily change it when needed. This significantly extends the life of the furniture. We work continuously to find better and more sustainable materials and use external certification to ensure quality.
How does the durability of your sofas compare to other materials?
Our seat cushions contain several different natural materials, all separated from each other to increase the life of the sofa and to facilitate future maintenance and renovation. Most of our sofas have removable upholstery, which means you can easily replace it if you want an updated look or if it wears out after many years of use. This extends the life of the furniture. Our furniture textiles are mainly made of linen, hemp and wool. Materials that are durable and environmentally friendly.
What do you stuff your sofas with?
We use pure natural materials for the upholstery - everything from horsehair and kroll, to natural rubber and seabird feathers. You can find more detailed specifications of the materials your favorite sofa is made of on each product page.
How do I remove stains on the sofa?
First of all, remove stains immediately. Absorb the stain with a white cloth, do not rub. Appropriate stain removers are available for difficult stains (consider trying on a less visible part of the fabric first, before treating the area in question). If this does not help, we recommend that the garment be taken to a professional laundry service/chemical wash.
Washing instructions for each upholstery fabric can be found here.
How do I best clean my sofa?
Norrgavel furniture is at its best when cared for. Vacuum the furniture fabric separately if necessary. Avoid vacuuming the upholstery, as feathers may creep out through the cover. Remove any stains as soon as they appear. Use a white cloth - don't rub the cloth, just let it soak up the stain. There are stain removers for stubborn stains, but be sure to try it on a less visible part of the fabric first before treating the area in question.
What should I consider when buying a sofa?
Start by thinking about the size of the sofa that fits the room and how you want to use it. If you like to sit and have a coffee while socialising with family and friends - then a sofa with less seat depth is preferable. On the other hand, if you prefer to relax and lie down on the sofa, then a sofa that is deep and has extra cushions is preferable. The next step in the decision-making process is the type of material you prefer. A sofa with textile upholstery is a versatile choice that provides a soft and cosy feel, while a leather sofa provides a stylish look where the leather develops a beautiful patina over the years.
How big should the sofa be?
The first thing to consider is where to place the sofa. Often, location is the most important factor in finding the right one and determines what type of sofa you have room for. A sofa that is too big can make the room feel cramped and confined, while a sofa that is too small can make the room feel untidy. Of course, comfort is extremely important, which is why we recommend that you stop by one of our stores and try them out!
