Chair Webbing Oak

The woven seat is a recurring feature in the Nordic furniture tradition. In the Chair Webbing, it meets Norrgavel’s own Chair BAS, but with a more generous stance and more space for the body – and for long moments around the table.

The straight wooden frame retains its simplicity, whilst the seat, made of narrow saddle straps in pure linen, adds a touch of softness. The saddle strap is manufactured by a family-run craft business in France and is hand-woven around the chair’s wooden frame. Linen is a material that changes with use. The seat gives way and gradually moulds itself to the body, becoming softer over time and developing a shape that reflects how the chair is used.
